Scramble Draft

How ten people run a draft

Everything happens at scrambledraft.com. No app, no accounts. Three roles: you (the commissioner, on your phone), the laptop (the TV screen), and the other nine (each on their own phone).

Step 1 — Make the room

your phone

  1. Open scrambledraft.com
  2. Top dropdown → your league
  3. Tap the In-person live tab
  4. Tick Real pea bottle
  5. Tap Start a new draft
  6. A 4-character code appears — that's the room
  7. Type your name → press Enter
You now have a seat. Don't tap START DRAFT yet.

Step 2 — Put it on the TV

  1. HDMI cable from the laptop to the TV, TV on that input
  2. Open scrambledraft.com on the laptop
  3. Click the Big screen tab
  4. Type the 4-character code → Show the draft
  5. Press Cmd + Ctrl + F for full screen
The TV now shows a giant code, a QR square and ten seat boxes. Don't touch the laptop again all night.

Step 3 — Everyone else joins

the other nine, on their own phones

  1. Point the phone camera at the QR code on the TV
  2. Tap the link that pops up
  3. Your name is the first thing on the screen — type it
  4. Press Enter
Their name appears in a box on the TV. No QR? Go to scrambledraft.com → In-person live → type the code next to Join.

Step 4 — Check the TV, then start

your phone

The TV says "N of 10 seats taken." Wait until it reads 10 of 10, then tap START DRAFT.

That's the only reason to wait. Any seat still saying "open — bot" when you start is drafted by the computer from round one, and those picks are permanent.

Step 5 — Every round, three things

fifteen times

  1. Shake the real bottle. Read the names out in the order they come out.
  2. On your phone, tap the ten names in that order, then Confirm order.
    Wrong tap → Undo last. Confirm stays grey until all ten are in.
  3. Everyone drafts. The TV shows who's up and a 5-minute clock. That person's phone says YOU'RE UP — MAKE YOUR PICK with a DRAFT button on every player. Everyone else's buttons are greyed out.

Step 6 — When it's over

your phone

Scroll to Get your results out → Print rosters. All ten teams on one page, with every player's draft position.

If something goes wrong

Someone arrives late, or their phone forgets them
They open the link and get a seat picker. They tap any seat still played by a bot — whatever it drafted stays with the team, and they pick from there on.
Someone's phone freezes, or they close the tab
They reopen the link. They come straight back to their own seat, nothing lost.
Everything freezes for everyone at once
Wait 30 seconds, then refresh. The draft is saved on the server and comes back where it was.
TV says "No draft with code XXXX"
Wrong code. Just retype it — no reload needed.
TV stuck showing the code and QR
That's normal until you tap START DRAFT.
No sound coming from the TV
Option-click the speaker icon in the laptop's menu bar and pick the TV.

  1. Your phone: In-person live → Real pea bottle → Start a new draft → name → Enter
  2. Laptop: Big screen → code → Show the draft → full screen
  3. Everyone else: scan the QR on the TV → name → Enter
  4. Wait for the TV to say 10 of 10
  5. Your phone: START DRAFT
  6. Each round: shake bottle → tap names in order → Confirm order
